Welcome

We invite you to attend the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Finance in Granada, organized by the University of Granada, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting of the University of Granada. The congress will take place at the Faculty's building on September 28 and 29, 2023.

The aim of the congress is to connect researchers and professionals working in the field of sustainable finance and to share knowledge and concerns. At a time of strong changes and serious social implications caused by war, changes in macroeconomic magnitudes, situations of inflation and economic stagnation or low growth, uncertainties and possible loss of confidence in certain financial assets, it is appropriate to analyze the objective of sustainability and the ethical implications it requires. It is also worth considering the standard-setting effort that is being developed in the establishment of standards related to environmental and social issues. This second edition of this forum for scientific discussion and debate will advance the state of the art from the different fields of study.

The congress focuses on fundamental issues such as the sustainability of investments, considering both environmental and social aspects and their financing, the role of capital markets in favouring sustainable strategies in business organizations, the elements that determine and explain sustainable financial products and the value of information systems in the management and valuation of risks and opportunities, among others.

The thematic areas proposed revolve around the management of information on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) aspects and their impact on economic-financial indicators and on capital markets, green financing, operational and social risks, renewable energies, transportation and other infrastructures.

The congress will take place in Granada, an incomparable enclave, where there is a confluence of cultures with monuments such as the Alhambra and the Generalife, the Royal Chapel, the

Cartuja Monastery, or the Royal Hospital, currently the home of the Rectorate of the University of Granada, neighborhoods such as the Realejo, the Albaicín or Sacromonte, squares, streets and corners with a millenary charm.

We look forward to seeing you in September.
