Matthew Diemer, Ph.D., is a Professor at the University of Michigan in the Combined Program in Education & Psychology (CPEP) and Educational Studies. Diemer teaches psychometrics and structural equation modeling courses and provides statistical consultation to his campus community. He formerly served as the Statistical Consultant for the Psychology of Women Quarterly. He has led equity-informed and/or anti-racist quantitative workshops for StatsCamp, the ICPSR Summer Program, Bahçeşehir University (Turkey), and the Pittsburgh Summer Methodology Series. He teaches Psychometrics and IRT workshops for Statistical Horizons, where he also serves as an Instructional Consultant. 

In 2019, Diemer received the Provost’s Teaching Innovation Prize for “Advancing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion via Advanced Quantitative Methods” at the University of Michigan. His recent work develops Critical Quantitative approaches to measurement, and Diemer has delivered invited talks on this work at Wuppertal University (Germany) and the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness, among other venues.
